• International Expansion Collections (IEC) in Udemy for Business

As of March 2021, Udemy for Business now offers a limited coverage, unmanaged series of local language collections in several languages, in addition to our International Collection (IC) courses available.

This article outlines what the International Expansion Collection (IEC) is and how learners can access the collection’s courses.

What languages are available in the IEC?

The languages that are currently available in the IEC include:

    • Arabic
    • Mandarin
    • Turkish

The IC, meanwhile, includes courses in French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

Additional information regarding each of the IEC collections is available below.

How do the International Expansion Collections differ from our existing International Collections?

There are two key differences between the existing International collections and the expansion collections:

    1. Content Collections

    • IC: Actively managed. Like our English collection, the existing International Collections are actively managed and continuously curated by our content team and dedicated international IPMs.
    • IEC: Static and unmanaged. Courses in the expansion collection will be added and removed biannually. At this time, we do not accept course suggestions for IEC courses. If you would like to suggest a new topic be added, please contact our Support Team.

    2. Learning experience and account interface

    • IC: Localized user interface, accessible via the language selector or by filtering. A localized learning experience, from content to UI.
    • IEC: English user interface, accessible only by filtering. A blended learning experience, combining localized content with an English interface.

Learners can access courses in Expansion Collection languages when performing a course search using the language filter on the left hand side of your search results.

Expansion Collection languages will not appear in the language selector. This selector localizes the language for your account and Udemy for Business Help Center.

The course experience for the Expansion Collection Languages is a blend of localized video/audio content within an English interface.

  • Professional Development Units (PDU) Courses on Udemy for Business

Udemy for Business is committed to enabling learners to effectively prepare for their project management certification exams and build skills across essential project management topics.

Prior to applying for Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI), learners will need to earn 35 contact hours. To retain PMP certification, learners must earn 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years, and then log them with PMI.

How to locate Udemy for Business courses that offer PDU / contact hours

For learners interested in accessing courses that provide PDUs / contact hours, search ‘PDU’ within the search bar in your Udemy for Business account or find a complete list of courses here.

Do Udemy for Business certificates of completion for PDU courses record PDU / contact hours?

Currently, the number of hours listed on the Udemy for Business certificate of completion is based on the course video hours at the most recent completion. Some instructors will include the PDU / contact hours in the title of the course, but not all.

Do learners need a certificate of completion from Udemy for Business or the instructor to apply for PMP certification or to log PDU hours with PMI?

No, learners can enter the course information on PMI’s website, and only need a certificate in the unlikely event of being audited by PMI.

  • New and Retired Courses

We will notify you of newly added courses as well as upcoming course removals in our monthly product and content newsletterYou can also view newly added courses by clicking here.

Please know that we only curate the highest quality courses most relevant for workplace learning and we are always updating the content to make sure it's fresh and relevant. Therefore, we do remove courses from the content collection regularly. Below are some examples of reasons why courses may be discontinued:

    - Course has become obsolete so we have replaced it with a more relevant course

    - Course has been replaced with a higher quality course with similar content

    - Instructor has consolidated two or more courses into one course

    - Instructor no longer offers his or her content on Udemy for Business.

If you have enrolled in a course prior to its removal, you will still have access to the course, even after it’s been removed, under My learning. If you did not enroll in the removed course(s), you will not have access to the course once it’s removed. We recommend the replacement courses found in this list of retired courses.

Courses are set for removal over a 6-month retirement window. To see the courses that we plan to remove and the date they will be retired, please review the To Be Retired tab of the Udemy for Business Course Retirement List.

We’ll also send this link every month through our product and content newsletter. Feel free to share this list with your end users.
